Here was a poster I did for my friend Brett Johnson over at Brainfox for the premiere party of their new video RAINSTICK.

I did a small gouache painting of the poster design first

Then scanned it in and added the details in Photoshop painting. I might use this approach in the future, it was my first time trying it out.
