I wanted to take a moment and plug an initiative by some awesome folks from the SMFA I know to pay homage to Jules Engel! Jules Engel was an abstract animator who had a HUGE impact on animation culture. He also helped found the CalArts Experimental Animation Program, which is one of the most world renowned of its kind!
